Sam and Liz in South America

Oh...pfff...nothing really...

Hello hello. Hope you are all well. We are. I am pootling away at my teaching and Liz is busy with the kids. She's learning to do macramie and crotchet at the moment which involves a lot of practice at home and she is distinctly not enjoying my comments about how nice it is to be sitting in the armchair thinking my thoughts with her knitting beside me. Heh heh. Although recently it's not that peaceful because of the parrot and dog symphony that comes from our neighbours. The dog barks at the parrot and the parrot, imitating it, barks back and they carry on for a few hours until someone shoes one of them (usually the dog). Delightful. Weather is a bit here and there, one day we have a lovely sunny summer type day and the next it's all overcast gloom and rain. I'm unreliably informed that we might be having an El NiƱo year.....exciting. We're both persisting with the Spanish - I had to do a presentation about English culture to my teacher so, obviously, gave her a lecture about beer followed by a short but sweet rhapsody on pubs. Most affecting, if I do say so myself. She said it was very interesting as she knows nothing about beer. Hmmm. Then she taught me how to say "I'm drunk" in numerous different Bolivian ways. Think she might have got the wrong idea, tried to explain I'm an aficionado, not a mindless booze monster but she didn't believe me.

Not much going on to be honest, there's another spaceship tomorrow and we're going to the BBC chap's birthday party tonight. It's pirate-themed but I think my efforts will be limited to drinking grog and saying "gaarrrr" on occasion. I am going to buy a hat tomorrow as well. We've booked a trip to Urmiri for next weekend, where there are hot springs and roman baths and other such delights. And there you have it.
