Schoolgirls!

I was mobbed by them. Well, maybe 'mobbed' is a slightly dramatic...I was accosted by them on Cerro San Cristabal, which I took the funicular up to today. We had a stilted conversation based around me being 28, from London, liking Chile and being cold and them being 15 and giggling a lot. Charming, if slightly alarming....they were, I mean. No doubt, I was just alarming. Che doesn't mention anything about dealing with this sort of peril in his diaries....

That apart, the view from the top was, well, foggy. Reminded me of when I went up Etna, although less volcanos, obviously. Just as well really, as I get funny when high up. Which makes it all the stranger that I have chosen to spend lots of my big adventure in the Andes and La Paz. Maybe it will help me conquer my phobia...either that or I will just lame out of scary mountain trips. Or, most likely, I will do them so as not to appear a big wuss and spend the entire time with jellylegs....

Tomorrow I go on my monster bus journey to San Pedro and I'm in the process of sorting out a tour or 2 for when I am there. Very exciting.

P.S. james, I'll take that comment as a joke...
